New Year's Lessons

New Year's Holiday was great! Though I am not really looking forward to going back to work tomorrow but I am also aware that if I don't go back to work anytime soon I'll start pulling my hair off. I feel as if my whole body is swollen like a balloon filled of water. NOT a very nice feel I tell ya.

Anyway, there're a few things I have come to realize during the time off ... not a bad thing but thought they are kind of amusing.

I learned that during New Years's holiday ....

1. People smile more easily and more often than the other time of the year.

2. People are trying to spend time with their families by going either outside of town or going to restaurants, to movies, to the malls etc. etc. but interesting enough everyone goes into the same directions/places at the same time.

3. If you want to catch a movie - make sure you arrive at the theatre at least an hour. Cinemas are like airports during New Year's holiday - you gotta check in (que up for tickets) at least an hour for a not so famous movies and at least two hours for those block buster ones. Even though you book the tickets in advance, remember that you have to pick up your tickets half an hour before show time which means you have to be at the cinema an hour early (at least) anyway.

4. People will feel like eating AT THE SAME TIME and they WILL go to the same restaurants that you are going. If you can cook, you'll save a lot of time waiting for tables.

5. You'll spend more than usual and you don't even know why and what they are that you spend your money on.

6. You will come to realize there are a lot of people that you have to send either cards or presents to and you'll want to kick yourself in the butt because you will have no ideas what to get them because of lack of time.

7. Your family will be a little more demanding (in a nice way) than usual and you will find yourself being more patient towards them.

8. You'll feel like time FLIES way faster than usual and by the time you realize "OH CRAP TOMORROW I HAVE TO WORK!" darn it!

9. You'll be more sensitive than normal

10. It's the only time of the year people have FAITH for the better and really believe in it. (sadly enough this feeling disappears so quickly)
